Princess Melissa

 Princess Melissa

Once upon a time, there was a princess named Melissa in the kingdom, Cordoba. Melissa was a girl who hated people crying. Even when she was born, she didn’t cry. She just giggled. Everyone thought that she was special. And she surely was! In her whole life she never ever shed a tear. Even though, she lost her mother when she was only 2, she didn’t cry.

One day, when she was 6 years old, she was looking through the balcony, when suddenly she heard someone calling her name. She went towards the sound and saw a letter near her foot. She read it and was shocked. Inside it was written, “Melissa, dear, if you’re reading this then please remember that that I am not dead but trapped with a witch. Please don’t search for me. Just remember NOT TO CRY. You’ll understand why when you will grow a little more. But for now, DO NOT CRY.” She was very disappointed as she realized that it was her mother. And she got another letter at the same spot the next month. It said, “Honey, Did you cry?” She said, “No mom!” As soon as she said it, the letter vanished. And that happened every month.

But one day, something strange happened. She CRIED! Yes, you heard that right. MELISSA CRIED! She was taking a stroll in the forest and having fun with her friends, the animals. When suddenly, she fell into a vortex. Then, she reached a wood palace.  It looked MAGNIFICENT.  She cried for she was lost and could not find her way back. Then she heard some clinging noises. When she saw around her, she was astonished.  There were hundreds of pearls. She picked one of them and found out that it was a high quality pearl and it costs $2500000 (25 million dollars). She said, “I can cry PEARLS!! That means I’m a FAIRY?? Is that why mom was warning me not to cry?” Then she heard a sound. “MELISSA, MELISSA”, the sound called.

At first, she was scared to go in. But curiosity got into the best of her and she went in.  She was shocked when she saw who was inside. It was a fairy. The fairy said, “I will grant you only one wish. Tell me, what do you wish for?”

Melissa said, “Dear fairy, I only wish for a kingdom that will be completely made of glass. No one will ever be sad there.” The fairy was shocked by her wish. But, she made a deal. “Ok, but you have to give me 15 thousand pearls every month because I am not the fairy of money and I am one of the poor fairies.” Said the fairy. “Deal final !!” said Melissa. The fairy nearly screamed with joy. She granted Melissa’s wish.

But, did you know she was a fake fairy? She was the same witch who had trapped Melissa’s mother. She had disguised herself as a fairy to meet Melissa. And now she knew where Melissa lived, she wanted to trap her. But, she did not know that Melissa had already recognized her. She had acted as if she did not know anything just to bring the witch’s faith upon her.

Once the fake fairy, meaning the witch, went away; Melissa began to rule her glass kingdom. For about two years, the witch came to take the pearls. But then suddenly, she stopped coming. Days turned into weeks and then months, but the witch never came anymore. Now, Melissa was starting to get worried because she felt that something was happening to her mother. So, she dicided to do some investication.

There was one more secret about Melissa that the witch did not know and it was that Melissa was herself a fairy! She had learnt magic from her grand-mother, who was also a fairy.

Remember we had left the story where Melissa was going to do some investication. We will now begin the story from there.

Melissa was searching for the witch when suddenly another fairy appeared in front of her. Her name was Aria. She was in a hole. So, Melissa decided to help her. When Aria was free, she thanked her and then placed a riddle for Melissa. “So tell me , if on one side was your power and on the other side your mother and you had to lose one thing, what would you lose?” asked Aria. Melissa thought for a while and then answered, “Powers!!”. Aria was deeply moved by her answer. She said, “Till now, no-one had given the correct answer. My name is Aria, by the way and thank you for saving me.” Melissa said, “Hi Aria! Will you help me?? A witch had trapped my mother and now I gotta save her.” “Don’t worry, I will use my magic to help your mother”, said Aria.

With Aria’s magic, Melissa found where the witch was. “Ohh!! So, the witch and my mother are in the forest”, said Melissa. “Let me place a trap for the witch. And, thank you so much, by the way.” “You’re welcome” said Aria. Due to the trick Melissa had planned for the witch, she fell into the trap. When she found out that Melissa was also a fairy, it was too late. She was disapearing into the woods. And Melissa had saved her mother. Then, she and her mother moved into Melissa’s glass palace.
