Analytical Paragraph

For four distinct activities given, the bar graph above shows us the activities of teenagers(from age 13-19 years who are involved in different activities during their leisure time) in the public schools and government schools of Vadodara.

It can be observed from the chart given above that the students from public school spent most of their time on cell phones and net surfing. The activity that the government school is mostly involving is watching TV. In watching TV they have crossed the number more than the public school children whereas the difference is 8%. The difference between them both in net surfing is the highest in all of the activities. A scary amount of 49% of students involve themselves in net surfing. Only 9% of the government school children involve themselves in the use of cellphones but in public school 18% of children use cell phones in their spare time. While the students from public schools spend more of their free time, net-surfing and talking on cell phones, the government school students spend it watching TV and talking to their friends.

In a nutshell, from this chart, we observe that public school teens spend most of their leisurely time net-surfing since they get the opportunity but for government school children watching TV and spending time with friends are more important.

Is the government doing enough to tackle Global Warming?

Is the government doing enough to tackle Global Warming?

I can’t tell it too specifically but to me, the government is not doing enough to tackle global warming. Like yes, the government is trying but personally, I think that it should try harder. The government should bring awareness to the people and help them reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and other toxic substances by providing them with alternative measures. People are concerned about the climatic changes and are looking up to the government to take adequate control to leave the future generation with a better environment to live in. There are solutions to the problem but still, people are conveniently ignoring the situation. There have been awareness programs and people are putting posters on roadsides and many different places where they ask people to plant trees. Such things are not to be taken lightly. To a large extent, planting trees can help with reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. I think the government is planting trees but it is not telling the people strictly and the people are not serious. Several environmentalists are aiming at tropical forest protection, making the environment carbon-free, fossil fuel divestment movement, etc. they have asked all people to work together to bring a change. According to various researches, the effects of global warming which we experience now don’t come from recent activities. It is the result of activities that took place years ago. So imagine what the situation in the future would be, considering the amount of pollution that we are producing now. Before we do anything, we should think about how it will affect the environment. We should put the environment at the top priority. It is high time we move to better systems and take the problem seriously.

Story time

                                                                 A sailor and monkey story

Once upon a time, there was a sailor who one day decided to go on a voyage on the sea. So, he took his companions along with him and off he went. He thought of some interesting ideas to amuse him but nothing keeps him amused for a long time. After some time, he along with his companions reached an island where they decided to rest. The sailor then suddenly woke his friends up because he saw a large and long snake coming towards them. They all jumped into the ship. Surprisingly, the ship did not move due to leakage. “How will we go now” asked one of the sailors. Suddenly a large whale came along with a monkey.” Oh no! what we will do now. Two problems, one way this huge snake and now a big whale! How we will escape now?” said one of the sailors. ‘Yes! You are right, my friend, we all are in a big problem.”  To everyone’s surprise, the whale and the monkey were very friendly. They promised to carry the sailor and his companions to a safe island. Then, they all became friends.

But, it’s not the end. Can a whale be our friend? Let’s see. While the whale was carrying the sailors, he sometimes dived into the water to kill the sailors. Almost half of the sailors drowned and died. Do you know what happened after that? One of the sailors was very clever and since he was sitting very close to the whale, he heard the conversation between the monkey and the whale. They were discussing that the whales must be happy by getting these sailors as their food for today. Now the rest of the sailors will also fall prey to the rest of the whales. He saw an island far away. He then suddenly had a light bulb moment. He along with his companions discussed a little louder so that the monkey can hear, that he had some more friends on that island. But, did you know that they were tricking the whale and the monkey? The monkey heard that and said to the whale that island we will get more sailors to eat, as the monkey didn’t know that it was a trap for himself. They went to the island and the moment they reached there, suddenly all the sailors jumped off the whale’s back. The whale became very angry. The angry whale decided to kill the monkey. The monkey cried, “Help, help, someone please help me”, but nobody came to his rescue. The whale killed the monkey and swam back into the sea. The sailors were able to save themselves due to their cleverness and unity.

MORAL OF THE STORY- If we cheat others, we by ourselves maybe into some trouble.

My favourite dish

Yum yum yum

My favourite dish is Soup. I am happy to share that it is healthy when it is homemade. But, at the same time, I am sad because it becomes junk food and is unhealthy when it is prepared with sauce, Heavy Cream, Added Sugar, Sodium Broths, Cheese, Bread Additions, etc. My favourite tomato soup looks like hot, boiling lava when it is made ready and is both fresh and hot. It tastes as spicy like pepper and looks as red as a tomato when it is prepared. It is liquid and easy to make. We can add some sauces to make it more different as well as tastier, in our homes. Also, because it is a liquid food item, we can take it whenever and wherever we want by putting it in a thermos flask. It is so healthy that I can drink it while I am ill. All these things make it different from other solid food items. The first time when I had soup, it was an emotional moment and I can never forget it. Once, when I went to a hotel, and at lunchtime, they had first made some soup, for starters. A waiter put a bowl in front of me and poured some hot soup into it. I was not willing to drink it in the beginning. And, suddenly I felt like someone was calling me. I looked at the soup and felt that it was talking to me like a man. I was surprised. It said “Drink me. Dear, I am both healthy, tasty and nice.” Once, I drank it, I was lost in its taste. It was soooooo yummy. From that day onwards, I drank 2 bowls of soup, anytime we made it. While taking the first spoon, I feel very hot and get a warm sensation on my tongue. But, gradually with each spoon, I feel an umami taste which makes me feel much better. After completing my soup, my stomach becomes full and I get a sense of relief from hunger. It also gives me a lot of energy to work. When I drink soup, I get a pleasant smell which makes me feel amazing. Although sometimes, the taste is bland, the smell is very nice. I think that a bowl of soup is like a great big hug. I also begin to squint at soup. Sometimes, especially with black-eyed peas, I’m sure it’s squinting back at me. Sometimes, it is as cold as ice but sometimes it is as hot as hell. Whenever I see soup anywhere, I become as hungry as a wolf. Afterwards, I am as calm as a millpond and as cool as a cucumber.

Travel to Live, Live to travel

Travel to Live, Live to travel

Travelling is one of the best ways to communicate and interact with people. We can also learn different languages, see famous places and also see the beauty of nature.

I remember my last visit to Italy. My dad had a very important conference there. Since it was our vacation time, he invited us to visit with him. My joy knew no bounds. I had been waiting for this wonderful day to arrive, for a very long time. We quickly packed our bags and headed straight to the airport. Look at the busyness of nature there! The airport was buzzing with life and was as busy as a bee. I could see people with luggage waiting, vendors selling food and loudspeaker giving information about the flights. Thankfully, our flight arrived very soon. We went inside and… Wow! Dad had booked our seats in the first-class section. The seats were as soft as velvet. I sat beside the window seat to enjoy the beauty. After that, the plane took off. I felt the cool air touch my face as I looked out of the window. I saw the bright, blue sky and the green, paddy fields. I also saw the calm sea and the small and big waves hitting the shore. After that, it was sunset time. The golden cat looked so beautiful with the blending of Red, Orange and Yellow. I had never seen it look like this in Bhubaneswar. After a few more hours, we finally landed. I just couldn’t believe my eyes. It was a whole new different world. It was just SO BEAUTIFUL. We went to our hotel and booked our room. Then, we took our key, went to our room, dumped our suitcases, arranged our stuff and then took some rest. After that, we had some biscuits and then we went to explore. First, we went to see the Colosseum. It was epic. We learned about its history and were amazed. It turns out that this monument had been standing there for years. We asked our tour guide why it had been broken. He said that it was because of an earthquake in the 7th century that destroyed a part of it. Then, we went to see the leaning tower of Pisa. There too, I was amazed. Even though the tower was leaning, it was not falling at all. It was almost 9:30 at the night. My father suggested that we should go home. But I didn't want to as my dreams were not fulfilled yet. But, my dad explained that it was too late so we all went back. For the next few days, I felt like my life was straight out of a fairy tale. We explored many places like Florence Duomo Santa Maria del Fiore, The Grand Canal in Venice, Vatican City, Trevi Fountain, Rialto Bridge and more, beaches like La Pelosa, Tropia Beach and did activities like taking a ride on Gondola, explored ancient Rome, went to a beach in Puglia and did water sports and even tried to make pasta. But, my favourite part was when we ate different kinds of pizza in different restaurants. It was so much tastier than the one back at home. After all that, we came back home.

I had so much fun in Italy. I learned to leave the comfort zone of my life and see nature’s ethereal beauty. I would surely suggest you visit Italy.

🧒👶Child Labour🧒👶

Child Labour

Child labour is the practice of engaging the children in economic activity, on a part or full-time basis and has been the most important concern in the world because it affects the children both mentally and physically. It also destroys the future of children. The Child labour act, of 1986 defines a child as a person who has not completed the age of 14 years. Every child is considered 'a gift of god' it must be nurtured with care and affection by the family and society. India is one of the foremost countries in Asia that has 33 million children employed in various forms of child labour. There are many causes of child labour i.e. poverty, debts, professional needs, etc.

Let me explain some of them.

Poverty

In some developing countries, poverty is one of the major problems and the children were considered as helping hand to feed their families. If they don’t work they will die of poverty and hunger. Because of poverty, illiteracy and unemployment, parents are unable to send them to school. So first we should try to eliminate poverty in society.

Debts

The poor economic state of people in India forces them to borrow money. The literate seeks debt from money lenders during emergencies later they find difficulty in paying back the debts so debtors drag their children too in support of them so that the debts could be paid off. They require children to work for them and do many dangerous works with glass. So, debt is also another cause of child labour.

Conclusion

I would like to conclude by saying that the remedy is only in the hands of the government. It needs to take the necessary steps to get rid of poverty by giving employment to the parents of child labourers. It is necessary to educate children. The government should allocate the necessary funds to educate poor children. There are many laws and authoritarian departments for child labour. But, up till now, these are unproductive in controlling ongoing child labour. This is possible only with the support of all the sections of society and the law enforcement agencies.  The people’s focus should be on controlling the population of the country, educating the children and providing sufficient funds for its removal from the gross domestic product of India rather than the luxury of their own.

Thanks!

April Fool Special😂😜😛🥱

Prank

Satish was standing on the balcony watching the last rays of the Sun. Loud and angry voices in the street below distracted his attention. He ran down the stairs to see what had happened. He saw some little boys, at each other's throats, for some reason. He went over to them to sort out their issue. He asked them about what had happened. The little boys told that they had lost their ball and it was behind the bushes. They were arguing about who will go and bring the ball. Satish told them that he would bring the ball. Then, he went to search for the ball. He saw some leaves were piled on the ground. He felt something was fishy. So, he removed the leaves just to see if there was a hole beneath. But, he could not find any hole. Still, he was careful not to step over it. He continued to search for the ball. As he was searching for the ball, He heard some noise. He looked towards the boys. They were now giggling and laughing. Satish saw some wood standing vertical around him.  That’s when he understood that he had been trapped in a wooden cage. He tried to break out of it but since he had not yet eaten his dinner, he had no strength. The boys were talking about something. He was all ears to their conversation. He heard them talking about the prank and some other unnecessary things that he didn’t need. As he was figuring out how to get out, he saw a man. Nothing was strange, except for his clothes. He was wearing dresses that looked like they were of some beggar, had half a red and white beard and jewellery of some rich person. He whispered something to the boys and then went away. “This man looks somewhat familiar. I need to find out who he is. But, first I must get out of this cage. Aargh! Great! Now I got a cut.” Satish said. Then, the boys suddenly told him to close his eyes. And, the boys removed the cage. After he got out, he wanted to yell at them for making HIM the victim of this silly prank. That’s when the man came, took off his fake beard, called his wife and all of them shouted, “APRIL FOOL”. That’s when Satish realized that the man was his DAD and his wife was his MOM. They went back home, covered Satish’s wound with a plaster, had good mirth at dinner and went back to bed.
